Vandele Farms is located in Lake Lure, NC. They provide pasture raised pork to a variety of retailers, restaurants, and wholesalers in the area. To control every step and guarantee quality, they also process their meat in small batches in their own processing facility located on their farm. What began as a small-scale operation has grown with market demand for local, sustainable, and humanely raised livestock. As farmers, Vandele Farms owners Kat and Larry Crocker believe in maintaining a sustainable future. They are farmers who believe that the best ingredients come from the best of care.

Hickory Nut Gap Meats

Hickory Nut Gap Farm is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Continental Divide in Fairview, NC. They’ve been around since 1916 and are a multi-generational family of farmers. They believe in building community through agriculture. HNG works with local farmers to provide 100% grass-fed beef, pasture raised pork and chicken to customers. They believe that the best tasting and most nutritious meats come from healthy animals that are humanely raised on high quality pasture. Their meats can be found regionally in grocery stores and restaurants and are sold wholesale to businesses that look to use only the highest quality meats in the products that they produce.

Located in Black Mountain, NC, New Sprout Organic Farm started out as a 50 acre organic farm in Asheville. As a leader in local, organic, sustainable vegetable farming, New Sprout has evolved into a partnership with over 10 organic farms who share the common goal of providing the highest quality, certified organic produce to their customers.

Handcrafted in Marshall, NC, Fermenti provides living, probiotic-rich plant based fermented foods. They specialize in fermented foods, beverages and seasonings as well as educational outreach. On their Fermenti Mountain Farm, they grow produce for their seasonal products, and source additional ingredients from other local farms. Their mission is to preserve the heritage and tradition of fermented foods and farming, through educational outreach programs and charitable events in the greater Asheville area.

Tractor Food and Farms

Tractor Food and Farm is a 501c3 non-profit food hub located in Burnsville, NC. They work with a group of over 60 local farmers with the mission of providing Western North Carolina with access to farm fresh, local food. Their goal is to build a vibrant local food economy by increasing access to local food, keeping food dollars in the local community, increasing farm income and preserving farm culture.

Sunburst Trout Farms

Sunburst Trout Farm, located in Waynesville, NC has been a family owned business for over 70 years. They are now in their 3rd generation of sustainably and humanely raising and producing high quality rainbow trout for wholesale and retail customers. The fish are raised in waters from the federally protected Shining Rock Wilderness in the Pisgah National Forest. Sunburst feeds their fish a diet that does not include artificial colorants, growth hormones, antibiotics, animal products or by-products. Instead, they feed a high protein, high fat diet giving them a richer flavor. Their fish are also tested to ensure they contain no mercury, PCB’s or pesticides.
